Pre-Departure, Post-La Crosse

My first post! I was recently informed that I was awarded the Academic Initiative Stipend for studying abroad. I chose to keep a blog of my travels through my study abroad program at Copenhagen Business School. Even though I’m not there yet, I feel like I’ve done a lot of preparation for this trip. It has been a busy and somewhat frustrating semester getting everything straightened out and ready to go. A lot of the time I felt like I was all alone to figure out what to do, but I guess that’s just a preview of next semester. My latest task is to get my housing deposit transferred to a Danish bank. I just found out my housing about 2 days ago, which was a little nerve-wracking that I had to wait until less than a month before leaving!

A little background about me and why I decided to study abroad….
Well I’m a junior at UW-La Crosse majoring in Marketing and minoring in Economics and International Business. I grew up in Cambridge, WI, a small town near Madison. My junior and senior year of high school I went to Europe with my high school. I think that’s really when I knew how much I loved to travel and that someway or another that I would study abroad. Copenhagen Business School (CBS) is one of the best business schools in Europe and has easy access to traveling throughout Europe.

My last days in La Crosse were very strange. I live with four other girls and it was a lot harder than I thought leaving them all. With packing and finals, it didn’t even really occur to me that I would have to say goodbye to these girls for a long time. I also have a lot of close friends that saying goodbye too was harder than I had expected.
